Travelling

Required travel documents

Travelling as newly diagnosed or with chronic illnesses can be challenging.


  • The first port of call when planning your overseas trip is to visit your General Practitionare (GP) and specialist consultant to discuss your plans. 
  • Your GP and specialist consultant will be able to give you an expert opinion on whether you should travel. If necessary, your specialist may recommend that you wait until your condition settles.
  • It's a good idea to discuss any vaccinations that may be required at this appointment.
  • Ask your GP for a list of your condition(s) and the medications that you are taking. 
  • If you avoid taking certain medications, then also request a list detailing why, for example because of allergies or because you know that one drug interferes with another.
  • If you suffer with serious allergies and are prescribed adrenaline auto-injectors you MUST  carry it with you at all times as these can help stop an anaphylactic reaction becoming life threatening, also you and your GP MUST inform us! As we would like to be preparred too!
  • Pack all the above information and bring it with you, as you need to share it with a health professional when you arrive. Please visit the: The Gov.UK website features comprehensive country-by-country travel and health advice, so it's worth checking this while you're planning your trip.


Travel Insurance

  • If you are in Europe, the European Health Insurance Card-(EHIC) entitles you to free or reduced-cost hospital treatment. This card is not an alternative to travel insurance. You will be asked to provide a copy of this card and a copy of your travel insurance if you are deemed to be safe to take up the treatment, we will not accept you without these vital documents. You will need to provide this card along with your own insurance details. The EHIC, presently do not have any supporting information regarding BREXIT.
  • We will need to be advised by your insurance company where should you be taken if you become unwell, this will be discussed prior to your date of flight. 
  • Keep all your documents in one place and ensure you know in advance whom to contact if you feel unwell.

 We will introduce you to local the area called "Palóc" that every village has its own costume with different patterns. You can see the variablility via the 30 dolls folk costume. For example, the collection has show-piece that wears a costume of a bride and another that is wearing the costume of a bride and groom, or you can see a mother who is rocking her child in a cradle.

All of these dolls show us the rustic lifestyle.
